Riddim

Riddim is a subgenre of dubstep known for its repetitive, minimalistic, and often aggressive sound. It focuses on a heavy bassline and a simple, syncopated rhythm, creating a hypnotic and head-banging experience.

Riddim emerged in the early 2010s as a reaction against the more melodic and complex sounds of mainstream dubstep. Artists began stripping down the genre to its core elements, emphasizing a heavy, repetitive bassline and a simple, syncopated drum pattern. Early pioneers include artists like Bukez Finezt, 12th Planet and Kromestar, who helped to define the sound and aesthetic of riddim. The genre has since gained a dedicated following within the dubstep community.
