Brostep

Brostep is a subgenre of dubstep characterized by a more aggressive and mechanized sound, often emphasizing distorted basslines and complex rhythmic patterns. It is known for its high energy and is designed for intense, energetic experiences.

Brostep emerged in the early 2010s as a more commercially viable and aggressive offshoot of dubstep. Artists like Skrillex, Datsik, and Excision popularized the sound, distinguishing it from the original UK dubstep scene with its focus on intense drops, heavily processed sounds, and a generally more maximalist approach. It quickly gained popularity at festivals and clubs, but also faced criticism for deviating from dubstep's roots.
